A payline is a defined path across reels. A ways system usually pays matching symbols on adjacent reels regardless of vertical position. Megaways varies reel height and recalculates the active number of ways for a round. Cluster pays looks for connected groups on a grid rather than reel paths.
The headline count cannot be compared directly. One hundred thousand possible ways does not mean one hundred thousand outcomes will pay, and a ten-line game is not automatically simpler mathematically. Symbol frequency, paytable values, wild behaviour and reel strips all contribute to the configured model.
Our game cards show the provider’s pay-system description, while the full review explains how a winning group is formed and what happens afterward. If a public source does not state the line count, we record the mechanism and keep the count pending instead of guessing.
